can't remember life without Astrology. I grew up up in Balmain - a suburb of Sydney and the hub of hippie culture in the late 60's and early 70's. I remember the 'herbal shops' filled with the scent of incense and patchouli oil and was particularly dazzled by the zodiac signs on the shop walls. I seemed to already know them as if they were old familiar friends. I bought my first Astrology book when I was 10 and devoured it in seconds. Again feeling I was being reminded of something that was innately part of who I was.
In the 80's I became a devotee of the emerging new age movement, gravitating to the words of Louise Hay, Wayne Dyer, and Marianne Williamson. Although my astrology knowledge was relatively fundamental I intuitively felt Astrology was more than archetypes and that it was deeply entwined within our spiritual purpose. I sought out more expansive Astrologers to fit my own philosophy and came across Evolutionary Astrologer Steven Forrest’s work. It felt like deja vu. For the first time I found an Astrologer whose writings were resonating with what I was intuitively feeling.
This inspired me, so I began doing charts (non-professionally) from age 29, learning as I went and realising more and more that what people were looking for was not actually outside of them but more of an inner search. I watched how people were using their planetary energies and noted that my readings were helping them -- in some cases, quite profoundly.
In 2007, I opened my business -- Marc Laurenson Astrology -- and became a professional Astrologer. Soon after, I worked with a fellow astrologer to develop Sydney Astrology School. Initially, the school only had a few casual students but it grew year after year until we had a fully-fledged astrology school on our hands. This is a prime example of how beautifully the Universe works when doing what you love is the key motivation. Sydney Astrology School was meant to be. The school is now conducted online.
Today, my Astrology consultation business is thriving and Sydney Astrology School, which brings me so much joy, is becoming more popular with every year. I'd love you join us.
